From the trivial to the grand to the stupid to the fun, an expansive but non-comprehensive list of wishes for the year ahead:
1. The Republicans won't win.
2. The federal government passes an initiative to forgive student loan debt. My husband and I dance in the street and weep tears of joy.
3. I pass my union exam.
4. I find a way to make money that is interesting and/or fulfilling. This may or may not be linked to #3.
5. We figure out a way that I can stay home with the Sprog most of the time, while still meeting our financial obligations and maybe having a little left over to play with and/or save.
6. My son continues to grow in health and happiness, with two parents who do the right things for him. (This wish tops all the others, but I can't get into ranking by number-- this is supposed to be a fun exercise.)
7. Speaking of fun exercise, I'll continue to do that, and grow healthier and trimmer in time.
8. I'll get a food processor, and make yummy food for the Sprog.
9. J and I will trade off cooking meals for the family, and depend less on sandwiches, Cheerios, and takeout for our evening meal.
10. I'll find some new authors to love.
11. I'll schedule time to work on non-blog writing, and become more confident in my abilities. This confidence will be boosted when I start getting published.
12. My parents will have no health setbacks.
13. My sister will contact me, with an earnest wish to work things out.
14. I meet some local people I really connect with. Some of them are parents.
15. J and I find a bigger place we can afford.
16. I find a good amateur choir to sing with. Dues are low, and the other members are fun and friendly.
17. Cute shoes.
18. Actually, a whole cute wardrobe. Maybe even a cute hat or two.
19. Fun toys and activities for the Sprog.
20. A bigger coffeepress.
21. A nice sewing machine that can handle canvas, denim, and leather.
22. A piano. With a place to put it.
23. Fresh fruit.
24. Good skin.
25. Romance. And Adventure.
26. A way to watch movies more often.
27. A smart phone, with access to teh Interwebz.
28. A renaissance of kindness and civility.
29. Economic recovery.
30. World Peace.
I think I'll stop there. Of course, I'd also love for us to be the recipient of a vast sum of cash, and for an end to hunger and a cure for cancer and other ills.
And so forth.
But thirty is a nice round number. Now I'll turn it over to you.
What do you wish for?

*waving magic wand* I like your ideas! Definitely with you on 1, 2, 6, 7, 11 and more.

Love your list, roo. 9, 10, 11, a big AMEN on 13, and most of the bottom of your list, too.
I'll have to do one of my own.
